As the years turn and new chapters unfold, we are bidding a gentle farewell to 2025. When the afterglow of the old year slowly drifts from the stage of time like a soft, gauzy curtain, the dawn of a new year is already dancing like lively notes upon the strings of time. This new year, like a stirring movement in a grand symphony, is playing its magnificent prelude with great momentum. Each vibrant note urges us to chase our dreams with courage and to embrace the future. So how have the children with cerebral palsy we sponsored progressed in their recovery over the past year, and what gains have they made?
The child we've been sponsoring, GUO Haozhe (Zhuangzhuang) continued to receive more rehabilitation training. After 11 months of such training, he can now place his heels flat on the ground and walk. Through rehabilitation training from February to December in 2025, which continuously strengthened his lower limb muscle strength, Zhuangzhuang has become increasingly steady on his feet, and his abnormal postures have improved. As he grows older, his physical development is constantly changing, necessitating adjustments to the content and intensity of his rehabilitation training. Before reaching adulthood, ongoing professional rehabilitation will remain an indispensable and crucial part of his growth journey. This is the key to ensuring the steady improvement of his limb functions and gradually bringing him closer to the living standards of normal children.
Now, Zhuangzhuang has long since shed his former timidity and has become optimistic, cheerful, bright, and confident. His paintings have been selected for exhibitions at the National Art Museum of China, the Songzhuang Art Museum, and the China National Children’s Center, thereby sharing his love for life with the world via his brush. He has also mastered playing the piano and the melodica, using music to express his inner voice. These steps of growth and transformation would not have been possible without your care and powerful support. This year, the music teachers specially created a stage for the children with cerebral palsy, leading them into a professional concert hall to perform and arranging a four-hand piano piece for him and his little partner. When the spotlight lit up the stage, Zhuangzhuang and his partner cooperated in perfect harmony, their graceful music echoing through the hall, deeply moving the audience with their perseverance and passion and earning long, thunderous applause. This was Zhuangzhuang’s first performance in a professional concert hall, and it marked yet another milestone in his life worth cherishing and remembering.
Now, Zhuangzhuang radiates confidence and positivity on his face. His paintbrush outlines his dreams, while the sound of his piano conveys hope. It was the professional rehabilitation treatment he received that gave him the opportunity to pursue art and music. And it is your warm care that has enabled this family in hardship to glimpse the dawn of a better life. In 2026, we launched a donation campaign to continue raising funds for Zhuangzhuang’s one-year rehabilitation training and living expenses. A total of 93 compassionate colleagues from our firm made donations for him. The funds raised will be used to cover Zhuangzhuang's rehabilitation, nursing, accommodation, and other expenses of this year.
