Professional Experience
Mr. Tao worked as a Chinese Patent Examiner for fifteen years, in the Fourth Examination (Chemistry) Department. Before joining AFD in 2002, he worked as a patent attorney for Beijing Shenxiang Patent Agent Ltd. Mr. Tao has extensive experience in patent prosecution, reexamination and invalidation, enforcement, licensing and counseling services.
Mr. Tao also has twenty-five years of industry experiences, having performed research for the State Institute of Nonferrous Metal and the State Science Committee, respectively, after graduating from the Department of Chemistry, Nanjing University, in 1955. Mr. Tao has completed training programs at both the European Patent Office and the German Patent Office.
Mr. Tao's technical practice areas include pharmaceutical and Chinese medicinal sciences, organic and inorganic chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, agricultural chemicals and processes, biotechnology, chemical and petrochemical products and processes, and textiles.
