Dr. Zhai has more than 20 years of cancer research and drug development experience. Since 2004, she is an independent consultant working for multiple venture capital and biotech companies, acting as Chief Scientific Officer for Oncomax Acquisition Corp. and Anaborex Inc., she is responsible for overseeing preclinical and clinical contract research, regulatory and manufacture of the potential oncology drugs in China and US.
Before that, she was director of Pharmacology at Exelixis, Inc, was responsible for the pharmacology, ADME/PK and TOX assessment of all potential lead compounds prior the IND filing. She also worked at Bayer Pharmaceuticals Corp. and Human Genome Sciences Inc.
Dr. Zhai was a postdoctoral fellow of Dr. Steven Rosenburg at Surgery Branch of National Cancer Institute. She received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology from MichiganStateUniversity and a Medical Degree from Yun-satSunUniversity of Medical Science in 1984.
She was one of the founding board members of the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association (CBA) and a key member of the CBA annual conference organizing committee in the last five years.
