CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Meets WIPO's Madrid Registry Senior Director in Beijing

Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), recently met David Muls, Senior Director of the Madrid Registry, and Chen Hongbing, Director of the Madrid Operations Division, both with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Beijing.

Lu introduced the latest developments of the Chinese IP system with a special focus on the works done in the trademark field, reviewed key cooperation projects between the CNIPA and the WIPO, and expressed the willingness to deepen the bilateral cooperation to generate more fruitful results.

Muls said that Chinese users have great potential to develop under the Madrid System for international trademark registration. WIPO is looking forward to intensifying cooperation in the trademark field with the CNIPA, specifically in expanding exchanges on the Madrid System.
