Adjustments to Patent-related Fees and Integral Circuit Layout Design Protection Fee

On February 22, 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission issued an announcement (Fa Gai Jia Ge (2017) No. 270), making adjustments to the administrative undertaking charges of the SIPO, effective as of July 1, 2017.

With respect to patent matters, the patent issue fees are separately listed. For invention patent, the issue fee is adjusted to RMB200, while for utility model and design patents, the issue fee is adjusted to RMB150. Meantime, a fee of RMB50 for patent announcement and printing is added, thus the total cost for registering a patent remains the same as the current fee stardard. Also newly added is a fee for certifying copies of patent documents, i.e. RMB30 for obtaining each copy of priority documents or patent register, etc. 

With respect to integral circuit layout design protection fees, the fee for requesting reexamination of layout design registration is adjusted from RMB300 to RMB2000, and other fees remain unchanged.
