On July 14, 2020, the 21st China Patent Awards were announced. The Award is co-sponsored by was announced by China's National Intellectual Property Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is annually presented in accordance with the Measures for the Awarding of China Patent Awards.

 The China Patent Award was set up in 1989 to encourage inventions and creations, cultivate innovation and improve patent quality. This year's Golden Prizes went to 30 of inventions and utility models, and 10 of industrial designs. Silver Prizes went to 58 of inventions and utility models and 15 of industrial designs. There are also 696 inventions and utility models and 60 industrial designs received the Excellent Prizes. The award setting is self-explanatory, reflecting the values and dimension of each category.
